Children Documenting their Homes
Emilia Fakou & Stefania Vouvousira
Children and the Built Environment
According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, children have the right to express their opinion freely on any matter concerning them. To this end, children should be given the opportunity to express themselves, something which is often referred to as children's voices. How can children express their view on their most intimate environment, their home? Emilia Fakou and Stefania Vouvousira discuss the initiative “One Click My World”, a program where children were encouraged to document and reflect on the spaces important to them with a camera.
